Some of our most prestigious clients were expecting it, we are setting-up a new workshop in New-York City.
Already based in the heart of Manhattan, in the famous Chelsea area, we wanted to find a larger workshop. This project went live last week thanks to the opening of our new premises located in Long Island City. A brand-new 2500 ft2 workspace, which will enable our teams to take-up exciting challenges and work in a confortable environment.
The empowerment of our local setup goes along with various asset investments such as new machines as well as the recruitment of new staff. These changes enable us to provide our clients with the expertise and skills of a team composed of experienced upholsterers and seamstresses.

In order to better serve our clients, we were looking for a workshop on the E line. We found one at Court Square, a stop away from Lexington Avenue. This same E line also serves our showroom on the 14th street, which will facilitate access for employees and visitors.

Ateliers Charles Jouffre present RID’OLED.
The “Lifetime Achievement Award” ceremony, which took place in New-York City on the 10th of March 2014, was a wonderful opportunity for our company to present RIDO’LED for the first time.

> ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, 10 th March 2014.
To achieve this ambitious project, we combined forces with BLACKBODY, a French pioneer of the LED technology.
We offer to reinvent the primary feature of a curtain, that is to say the adjustment of natural light. This curtain enables the luminosity despite the falling night and gives back to the window its double function of light source as well as decoration. RIDO’LED is state of the art 30 foot-tall curtain composed with 900 embroidered/twine/twisted leds on a fabric, spreading a peaceful but powerful light.

A great opportunity for “Ateliers Charles Jouffre”, Thierry Gaugain and BLACKBODY to mix fabric know-how, design and technology. The Designers and Architects who attended the ceremony could get a first look at this innovating project with enthusiasm.
